URC Group Life Assurance

The United Reformed Church provides valuable benefits if you should unfortunately die during service whether you are an active minister or working employee. This benefit is not linked to any of the Church’s pension schemes and does not rely on that membership.

The Church provides this benefit free of charge to you.

The benefits are insured under a separate ‘Group Life Policy’ held with Zurich Insurance and there is an independent Trustee, appointed by the Church, which oversees the benefits payment.

You must complete a ‘Nomination Form’ which indicates your wishes, should you die, and the 2 links below take you to that form and explain the benefit further.

These benefits are held under a trust, and the Trustee assess all death benefits and will take into consideration your wishes on the Nomination Form. It must be noted, these benefits do not form part of your estate and are not liable for tax when paid.

If you do not complete the ‘Nomination Form’, the Trustees will make enquiries as to your family/partners and any financial relationships you have, after your death, which maybe an untimely request at a difficult time.

You need to click this link and put the password in you have been advised of and read the further information, then send the form, via email if possible to paul.bannister@urc.org.uk or post to Church House.
